Nude Emma Watson Photo Threat a Hoax
The threatened nude Emma Watson photo leak was actually just a hoax to create publicity to shut down the website 4Chan. Rantic Marketing was behind EmmaYouAreNext.com, which threatened to release naked photos of the 24-year-old actress. The site threatened to post the photos on Saturday at 12 a.m. ET. However, by Wednesday, the site pushed visitors to Rantic Marketing’s homepage, which has an open letter to President Obama asking that 4Chan be shut down. 4Chan has been linked to other nude celebrity photo leaks. Rantic Marketing claims to have been hired by celebrities to push for the 4Chan shutdown and for Internet censorship. A Reddit user identified that EmmaYouAreNext.com is hosted by a common server as FoxWeekly.com, which, in its former name of Swenzy, was linked to the 2013 Family Guy Boston bombing Internet hoax.
