Ronald Pendleton Obituary, Death – Ronald L. Pendleton, a beloved figure in Marblehead, passed away at the age of 82 on December 10th. Born on May 7th, 1941, in Ney, Ohio, Ron’s life was characterized by a deep commitment to service, a passion for agriculture, and a remarkable sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him. After graduating from Sandusky High School, Ron served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. In 1966, he pursued higher education at California State Polytechnic College, focusing on agriculture business management and completing a course in horseshoeing. His journey in agriculture took him back to Marblehead in 1972, where he purchased a farm and established a 12-stall horse barn.

Ron’s love for horses was evident in his work as a trainer and horseshoer. His ability to connect with animals through a calming touch and kind nature earned him respect and admiration. His humorous and sarcastic demeanor created lasting bonds with the horse owners, turning clients into lifelong friends. After retiring from the more physically demanding aspects of his work, Ron embraced new passions. Woodworking, beekeeping, and bread making became integral parts of his retired life, showcasing his versatility and zest for learning.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Sherry Pendleton, parents Agnes Mack and Ross Pendleton, and stepfather Robert Mack. He is survived by his children Ross, Erik, and Jessica Pendleton, as well as stepson Scott Cebull and grandson Luke Pendleton. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on December 19, 2023, at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Lakeside-Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Sandusky River Valley Beekeepers Association, a cause close to Ron’s heart. Ron Pendleton’s legacy lives on through the memories of those he touched, both human and equine, and the contributions he made to his community.
