Scrubs Couple to Reunite on TBSs Ground Floor

Hey there, Scrubs fans, it’s time to rejoice! Happily, many actors from the cast of the beloved show Scrubs have continued to remain in the spotlight. But getting to see a Scrubs onscreen couple reunite as another onscreen couple? That is super special and awesome! The love-to-hate and hate-to-love Dr. Cox will be reuniting with his TV ex-wife when TBS’s Ground Floor stages a Scrubs mini-reunion next season.

Christa Miller stars on Cougar Town, another TBS program, and has landed a guest-starring role on Ground Floor. She will play the wife of John C. McGinley’s Mr. Mansfield. The bold, blunt, and artistic Allie Mansfield is the only person who can control her bank boss, arrogant husband.

Ground Floor also stars Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) and Briga Heelan, and follows Brody (Astin), a young and successful banker who falls for Jenny (Heelan), an sharp and sassy maintenance supervisor. Brody works high up in the building while the maintenance team works on the bottom level (get it? the ground floor).  The duo are involved in very different worlds and work in vastly different types of environments but have strong feelings for one another. McGinley’s character is Brody’s difficult, self-assurance boss.

In real life, Miller is married to Ground Floor creator Bill Lawrence, who was also behind Scrubs. Miller is part of a fantastic ensemble team on her show, Cougar Town, including Courtney Cox. The show started on ABC in 2009 before moving to TBS in 2013.

Another overlapping casting? Heelan had a recurring role playing Holly, Grayson’s baby mama, on Cougar Town. Apparently once you’re in with this gang, you’re really in!

Ground Floor returns Dec. 9 for its second season on TBS.
