She was discovered during her teenage years in Rome by Neapolitan producers, Antonio Ferrigno and Ettore Pesce.

Virna made her debut as an actress in Maria Mariani in Naples Sings in 1953.

She was photographed while ‘shaving’ her face which was featured on the March 1965 cover of Esquire magazine.

For her work in La Reine Margot, she was presented with the “Best Actress at Cannes” and the César Award for “Best Supporting Actress.”
