The teen maintains the baby boy was stillborn and "wasn't crying" when she gave birth to him, but the prosecution believes she strangled him to death.

A judge had changed her bail conditions to allow her to attend her classes in person.

However, this privilege that would allow Trevizo to study at the New Mexico State University has not received well by the public.

What did the petition against Alexee Trevizo state?

The petition, created by Evelyn Grasiano on Change.org, stated that enabling Treviso to continue her studies after being charged with a "heinous crime" is "morally wrong."

"It is important to consider the impact this case may have on public trust,' the petition added.

"Allowing someone charged with murder access into eduction where they will be entrusted with other individuals could undermine public confidence... as well as the justice system itself."

The petition claims Treviso is "pursuing a career in nursing or social work," but there is no proof to back this up.

Is Alexee Trevizo banned from attending university?

Alexee Trevizo is currently not banned from attending university. Judge Jane Gray had amended the terms of her release to enable her to physically attend her classes at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.

Previously, another judge had ruled that Trevizo should not be allowed to see her boyfriend and alleged father of her child, Devin Fierro, who also attends the same college, as reported by Law & Crime

However, Judge Jane Gray had voided the previous order and ruled that as there were no domestic abuse allegations in the case, Trevizo should be allowed to see Fierro and attend the same university.
